OSTRAVA GOLDEN SPIKE IS GOLDEN ALSO IN THE NEW WORLD ATHLETICS SERIES
After the ten years of the existence within the IAAF World Challenge, the new era is coming towards the best Czech track and field meeting.
The 59th Ostrava Golden Spike will be organized within the new series of the World Athletics Continental Tour – Gold. The IAAF which has also changed its name into World Athletics announced the formation of the new form on Saturday 23 November in Monaco. Based on the Diamond League changes, this serial gains on the importance and all the athletic stars all over the world welcomed this series very well also because it will offer the events which will not be the part of the 2020 Diamond League program.
The official letter of appointment was taken by Radim Babinec, the first deputy of the Mayor of Ostrava, accompanied by Oldrich Zvolánek, the director of the co-organizing club SKK Vítkovice and the Ostrava Golden Spike meeting manager Alfons Juck in Monaco from the hands of Lord Sebastian Coe on 23th November 2019.
