Crouser, Taylor, Kendricks, Barega and 300 m hurdles for women

Meet director, legendary javelin thrower, Jan Zelezny announced latest top names for the 59th edition of Ostrava Golden Spike (WACT Gold). On September 8 in shot put Olympic winner Ryan Crouser will test his special shape in Europe. Triple jump will bring the duel of current top three names, Christian Taylor against African record holder Fabrice Zango Hugues and another 18+ jumper Pedro Pablo Pichardo.

Both pole vaults are also offering some stiff competitions. Sam Kendricks against returning from injury Renaud Lavillenie and olympic winner Thiago Braz, among women in-shape Holly Bradshaw against Swedish record holder Michaela Meijer and Slovenian record holder Tina Sutej. Special event will be women´s 300 m hurdles, where local star Zuzana Hejnova (she also the holder of all-time best, very fast 38.16) will face World leader Femke Bol, European champion Lea Sprunger and this year unbeaten at 400 m hurdles Briton Jessie Knight. Special should be men´s 5000 m where World silver medalist and World U20 record holder Selemon Barega announced an attempt to achieve a fast time in region of meet record.

That is legendary 12:48.81 from 2003 by Stephen Cherono (later Saif Saed Shaheen) when he beat Hicham El Guerrouj in his first serious race at the distance.
